Privacy Policy

The PARADISE project is committed to protecting your privacy. This Statement of Privacy applies to the website of the PARADISE project, an EIC Transition project funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC), Grant Agreement No. 101292269, and governs data collection and usage. The Web Site falls under the responsibility of PRODEA DEPOLLUTING, the project coordinator, together with the project consortium (PRODEA DEPOLLUTING, IPCF-CNR and UNIPI). It is concerned with the dissemination and exchange of information about the research conducted in the course of the project (cold-plasma Electroceramic Barrier Discharge (EBD) technology for removing VOCs and odours from industrial and indoor air) and the outcome of this work. By using the PARADISE Web Site, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

1. Policy scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the website paradise-eic.eu and applies regardless of whether you use a computer, mobile phone, tablet, TV or other device.

2. Personal data this website collects and how we use it

Unless stated otherwise in the relevant sections of the Website, personal data generated from the use of our Website is processed as follows.

(i) Contact via electronic mail (e-mail)
Should you choose to write to us by e-mail or through the contact form, we ask you to provide your name and your e-mail address. These are the only data required for this purpose: without them we are unable to answer your message and address it to you personally. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, as the processing is based on your consent when you decide to contact us.

(ii) Social media
The Website links to the project’s LinkedIn page (“PARADISE EIC”). LinkedIn may receive and use personal data about your visit when you follow this link. If you browse our Website or view our content, the information they collect may be connected to your account on their site. For more information on how this organization uses personal data, please read its privacy policy.

(iii) Site visitation tracking
We use Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction and for statistical purposes. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website. Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. Your IP address is anonymized by GA and cannot be used to personally identify you. We consider Google to be a third party. GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found in Google’s developer guides. Disabling cookies in your internet browser will stop GA from tracking your visit.

3. How we store your personal data

If you submit your contact details by e-mail, the only personal data stored are your name and e-mail address. We will not share your contact details with anyone. They will be securely stored by PRODEA DEPOLLUTING, with access only by authorized personnel. This is currently the only occasion where personal data is stored by this Website.

We use state-of-the-art technology to store your data. The following safeguards, for example, protect your personal data from misuse or any form of unauthorized processing:

  • Access to personal data is restricted to a limited number of authorized persons for the stated purposes.
  • The IT systems used for processing data are technically isolated from other systems to prevent unauthorized access and hacking.
  • Access to these IT systems is constantly monitored to detect and prevent misuse at an early stage.

4. How long we will keep your personal data

We will keep your personal information only for as long as it is relevant and useful for the purpose for which it was originally collected, or as required by law.

5. Cookies and third-party cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites can use to make a user’s experience more efficient. The Website uses a consent banner: by continuing to browse and clicking “Accept All”, you agree to the use of cookies. For more information, see our Cookies Declaration.

You may set up your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, or set it to refuse them, although you may not have access to all the features of this website if you do so. See your browser’s “help” function for how to do this. You do not need cookies enabled to use or navigate many parts of this Website. If you use different computers in different locations, remember to adjust each browser to your cookie preferences. You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the link to the Cookies Declaration on our Website.

6. Data breaches

We will report any unlawful breach of your data within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.

7. Your rights as a data subject

Under the General Data Protection Regulation [Articles 15–21, 77], you have a number of important rights, free of charge. In summary, they include:

  • Right of access: You can verify the lawfulness of the processing, access your personal data and receive additional information about how we process it.
  • Right to rectification: You can review, correct, update or modify your personal data by contacting the data controller (see contact details below).
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): You can request deletion of your personal data when we process it on the basis of your consent or to protect our legitimate interests. In all other cases (such as a contract, a legal obligation to process the data, or public interest), this right is subject to specific restrictions or may not exist.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You can request restriction of the processing of your personal data (a) when the accuracy of the data is contested, until it is verified; (b) when you oppose deletion and request restriction of use instead; (c) when the data are no longer needed for processing but are required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; and (d) when you have objected to the processing and a decision on your objection is pending.
  • Right to object to processing: You can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests as data controller, as well as to direct marketing and consumer profiling, if applicable.
  • Right to data portability: You can receive your personal data free of charge in a format that allows you to access, use and edit it with commonly used tools, and, where technically feasible, ask us to transmit it directly to another controller. This right applies to data you have provided to us that is processed by automated means on the basis of your consent or for the performance of a contract.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: You can contact the supervisory authority of your habitual residence or workplace, or of our company headquarters. In the latter case, you can file a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority, the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) (www.cnil.fr).
  • Right to withdraw your consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please:

  • contact us at the PARADISE e-mail address contact@prodea-depolluting.com
  • give us enough information to identify you;
  • provide proof of your identity and address; and
  • tell us which information your request relates to.

8. Time limits for complying with your rights

We make every effort to comply with all requests within 30 days. However, this period may be extended depending on the specific right or the complexity of your request.

9. Data controller and contact details

The data controller of this website is:
PRODEA DEPOLLUTING, who can be contacted at contact@prodea-depolluting.com

All questions, comments and requests regarding this Privacy Policy may also be addressed to contact@prodea-depolluting.com

10. How to complain

We hope to resolve any query or concern you raise about our use of your data. However, if you believe we have not responded appropriately, the GDPR also gives you the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection or supervisory authority, in particular in the European Union (or European Economic Area) state where you work, normally live, or where the alleged infringement of data protection law occurred.

11. Changes to our Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may change from time to time in line with legislation or industry developments. We will not explicitly inform our clients or website users of these changes; we recommend that you check this page occasionally for any policy updates.
